THE FOURTH OLDEST MOVIE THEATRE IN COLORADO

IMG_3135.jpg

The Historic Liberty Theatre

is the descendent of one of Pagosa Springs' early motion picture theatres and has been in operation under the same name since 1919.

The Liberty Theatre is the fourth oldest theatre in Colorado and is a historic landmark dedicated to being an integral part of Pagosa's nightly entertainment.

The change from film to digital was an overwhelming expense that most small theaters in the US were unable to cover. Fortunately, Colorado Downtown Inc and it's funders matched the money raised by each theater, knowing that an old theater brings vitality to a downtown.  It has been a journey to find committed supporters that love film and wanted to see the theater continue in this community.

We are here because of people like you that come to the movies, support having a movie theatre in our town, and understand the importance of this type of entertainment in our historic downtown.

Thanks to your support, we are now up and running with digital projection, a new screen, and a new surround sound system for a better movie watching experience.
