HISTORY
The historic Liberty Theatre is the descendent of one of Pagosa Springs' early motion picture theatres and has been in operation under the same name since 1919.
The Liberty Theatre is the fourth oldest theatre in Colorado and is a historic landmark dedicated to being an integral part of Pagosa's nightly entertainment.
The change from film to digital has been an overwhelming expense that most small theaters in the US have been unable to cover so that is why Colorado Downtown, Inc and it's funders matched the money raised by each theatre knowing that an old theatre brings vitality to a downtown. It has been a journey to find committed supporters that love film and wanted to see the theatre continue in this community. We are here because of people like you that come to the movies, love having a movie theatre in your town and understanding the importance of this type of entertainment in our historic downtown.
